In the midst of all the thorns

There is something about painting, poetry and journaling that helps to soothe the savage beast within me.I started a watercolor class and I can't believe it's almost over. I hope to sign up for it again. I also want to take a acrylic painting class. I will have to make a choice between the two.

My life has been a bed of roses. You know how the rose has thorns on the stems, yet there is the most beautiful flower attached to that stem. I once read or heard someone ask "what are the thorns there for"? Are they protecting the splendor and beauty of the rose it's self? You must be careful not to be pricked when touching the rose. I have been pricked many times by the thorns of life. I even have scars where the thorns have cut so deeply. I have cried until I have no more tears from the pain inflicted by these thorns. Yet I am comforted in knowing that someone some where can look beyond my scars, brokenness, pain and tears. They see a beautiful rose in all her splendor. Soft petals, eye catching colors, and sweet aroma. There to share with the world. There to make some one else smile. There to bring beauty and love into the world.

In the midst of all the thorns in my life there you will find me.
