Wow, it's been a month since my first injection of Trulicity.
This has been a rewarding experience so far. I have not had any serious side effects. The most annoying side effect has been slight nausea. The nausea feeling does not last all day. I had a stomach ache a couple of days in the last week. My stomach felt like I had taken a laxative, gripping and churning. I had a bowel movement shortly after and the sensation went away. That is the worst side effect I have had in the last month.
Let's talk about my glucose readings. I am pleasantly surprised because my readings have continued to improve. I have gone from a morning reading between the 130 and 150 range to a range between 100 and 130. That is a significant improvement. I have found that when I drink a tablespoon of cocoa powder mixed with about 8 to 16 ounces of warm water, my glucose appears to be managed.
Was there any weight loss? Yes, there is some weight loss. I have maintained the 5 to 6 pound weight loss from week one. I currently weigh 186. I am not complaining. I didn't get to 190 pounds overnight and don't think losing 50 pounds in a month would be healthy. My goal is 160 to 165 pounds. My clothes fit a little looser. I am eager to see what happens this month with my weight.
I'd like to add a note about the injection. The first day I took the injection I did not feel anything. I even checked my injection site and the needle to verify I had done it properly. However, with each injection, I have felt a slight prick. I even had a sensation of tightness around the injection site, which went away after about 12 hours.
Overall, I am satisfied with the results I am getting. It is important for me to control my glucose readings. Trulicity is helping with the control of my glucose. The weight loss will be a positive reaction.
Thanks for following my journey!
